MEGAZEEN

2005 Wizard World Philadelphia

We got there Thursday night and stayed in a room the size of a shoebox. They charged us extra for the room because we are legion and we are many. We nearly got kicked out. Twice.

Friday morning we lugged two metric tons of stuff to the convention floor and set up.

This year as you can see we had a tablecloth and some backdrops- blown up pages from Megazeen 10, Enlightenment and Colossians. Lots 'n' lots of books and Pharticus t-shirts. Suck it up!
There's another shot from Saturday I think, courtesy of Henry Chmielefski. Cool guy, real sweet daugter that puts up with him well, God bless her.

That's Keith Betancourt, aka "Inkboy."

We did a LOT of dollar sketches this year.

One fan stood behind Jesus as he sketched her a Princess Leia.

Inkboy, Jesus and Tom are all hard at work. I drew too, but I was taking pictures.

There's Jesus about to beat on Inkboy. They like to pro wrestle. A lot. That's how we nearly got thrown out of the hotel the second time. And possibly arrested in Chinatown...

Jeremy Zehr the indispensable... runs to McDonald's for us so we could keep drawing.
Speaking of Chinatown, here's Tom in front of a restaurant window with ducks.
This guy said Inkboy draws better than Jim Lee. He's right too. Check out that Hawkman shot.
This was the first time we had fans seeking us out at a show. These two ladies were awesomely supportive. Check out her jacket!!!
A few celeb shots... Jer and Lou Ferigno. Tom and Kenny Baker and R2D2.

We did some sightseeing this year (well, really we just sort of goofed off in the park... these are the few shots we can share...)
Jesus at a fountain.
Homeless guy sleeping at a church... lots of homeless people... pray for Philadelphia. We got the chance to talk with some of them.

Jesus is really into wrestling... this is his title belt, and a pic of him and Jer waiting to meet Mike Floey, and the aftermath...
Wouldn't be a show without the weirdos, right? This was one of the cooler shots, Jango and lil Boba Fett.
This was Amazon Mandy who was in the booth next to us on Friday. Sweet lady.
Dr Doom loves Megazeen.
Elektra...is there a draft in here?
Batman.
Darth Vader and Inkboy.
Somehow we became cool enough to warrant a visit Sunday morning from Art and Franco of Blindwolf studios, instead of us always going to them and being all goofy and starstruck. Very cool guys.

Aw yeah man.
Jamie Cosley blessed us with a gigantic original Nippy Wallaboosh painting. For now it's hanging in my daughter's bedroom. Juicy Beeshi!
We all drew pictures of Julie Stiles's Shadowfox character for her, but Jesus' pic took the cake. We worked on it all day till his hand was killing him. Julie was one of the sweetest people we had the chance to meet.
And that's about it, at least until I get some more pics from the other guys.
