MEGAZEEN #7 |
cover by Daniel Bradford |
| The Inside Stuff |
|
I think this was the last Megazeen that contained reviews. We kicked this around a bit, it was one of Crossett's visions about MZ, but we were finding that the reviews were better suited online so they would remain timely. Then, once we assumed control of www.christiancomics.net we junked the review thing altogether. The cover was done by the newly discovered Daniel Bradford, who had come to our attention during the second Megaunity Challenge. This was certainly the most unique take we've gotten on the angel wings & music theme. There's no doubt Bradford has the stuff to go pro. Brilliant. At shows, this is one of the most commonly picked up MZ's for the cover alone. Jamie Cosley had a burning Poop he just needed to get out... wait, that came out wrong. Jamie also taught us about Things You Should Not Do in Sunday School in this issue. Jesus Marquez and Inkboy produced a stunning Live By the Sword dream sequence that did a great job of showing what they can do artistically. And hey, yet another great live birth scene for the Megazeen!!! Woo-hoo! Mike hatfield wrote and drew a sci-fi 3-pager called Contagion. Dan Conner gave us a real offbeat, raw Jerry the Werewolf story (if you haven't heard Dan's CD, "The Last Dan on Earth" you need to, it's one of my favorite CD's). Mark Melton turned in the second installment of Azalea. Uncle Schlomo made his first Megazeen appearance with Exodus in One Page. There's been some speculation as to a 'secret identity' for Schlomo ever since. The back cover showed the first printed installment of How NOT to Make a Christian Comic, which you can see more of through the online comics section. We reviewed Hero TV (Community Comics) and Empire (Christiine Kerrick), and we interviewed Jesse Hamm for his work on Comics to Bore and Confuse You and Bitten Apple. I don't recall much else behind the scenes with this issue, it was all going fairly smoothly by now. I do recall, with this issue, being bothered that we still couldn't do it as a regular sized comic book. The art and lettering got squished in places. We were growing bigger than our paper size by now. And guess what? You can buy it here.
